I also like the idea of giving homework that allows kids to get to know thier families and community activists. Hopefully grandparents and communty activists will be willing to get involved and help the child. Grading homework is important. Giving the student a 1 or 2 to shows the amount of work completed is something I would use. Every assignment doesnt have to be graded, but I believe most do. Otherwise, the students are going to realize that homework will not be graded so why do it?

Hey Pauli Walli!...this is Jessica G.

I really like the idea of giving students homework that make them bond with their families. That is like killing two birds with one stone...not that I just run around killing birds all willy nilly!lol...I am still struggling myself on the value and amount of homework that i will be comfortable with when I start teaching. Hopefully by the end of this year I will have a better grasp on it.
